Steelers Burning Question: Is Cowboys vs. Steelers the best AFC/NFC rivalry?
Last season I did the Friday Night Steelers Six Pack and wondered if it was worth doing further. After all, interaction was not great, and sometimes you just have to adjust. So I decided to call an audible, and not just abandon the Friday night meeting of the black-and-gold minds.
Instead of six questions, I wanted to focus solely on one question.
We’ll still do the preamble of what you’re eating/drinking/listening to, but we’ll focus our attention on the one Steelers question of the week. Don’t worry, most weeks I’ll do a bonus/extra credit question for fun. With all that out of the way, let’s get to the question!
This week I was asked if I thought the Cowboys vs. Steelers was the best inter-conference matchup in the NFL? In our live chat during the Steelers Preview podcast we had someone suggest the game should be played yearly.
First, I feel like if this game happened yearly it wouldn’t be nearly as special as it is when it is every four years. On top of that, with the 17-game schedule the Steelers and Cowboys have a chance to play more than just every four years.
Next, I believe the Steelers vs. Cowboys is the best AFC/NFC rivalry, just based on the history. Sure, there are closer teams based on proximity, like Philadelphia, but the Cowboys and Steelers is tradition. It’s history. It’s special.
What say you?
As for what I’m eating, I have no idea. I’m having takeout BBQ from a local restaurant at a family member’s house. As for drink, it’s store bought kombucha, and the tunes will be whatever is on where we’re headed.
Happy Friday everyone!!
