Steelers Burning Question: Home sweet home

Last season I did the Friday Night Steelers Six Pack and wondered if it was worth doing further. After all, interaction was not great, and sometimes you just have to adjust. So I decided to call an audible, and not just abandon the Friday night meeting of the black-and-gold minds.

Instead of six questions, I wanted to focus solely on one question.

We’ll still do the preamble of what you’re eating/drinking/listening to, but we’ll focus our attention on the one Steelers question of the week. Don’t worry, most weeks I’ll do a bonus/extra credit question for fun. With all that out of the way, let’s get to the question!

With the Steelers starting the season off at Acrisure Stadium Sunday vs. the Los Angeles Chargers, it makes me think what is your best memory from a home Steelers game. I don’t care if it’s regular season or playoffs, what has been your best moment to take place at Heinz Field/Acrisure Stadium? Heck, if you want to extend it to Three Rivers Stadium, go for it!

For me, I’ll never forget my first home game in 2003. The team was bad that season, and I got free tickets to go watch the final home game vs. the Chargers. The Steelers won, and you could start to see some promise on the roster with players like James Farrior rounding into form, and some rookie named Troy Polamalu cracking the lineup.

Other than that, the 2013 game when they hosted the Chicago Bears on Sunday Night Football will always be special. I was the NBC Fan of the Week and got to ride around town on the Sunday Night Football bus and be a part of a lot of cool festivities leading up to the game. The Steelers lost that game, they started the year 0-4, but I’ll never forget the experience.

As for what I’m eating, I have no idea. I’m traveling home today, so I don’t have a clue what is on the docket for my return. As for drink, it’s likely store bought kombucha, and the tunes will be whatever is being played around the house. It will be good to be home.

Happy Friday everyone!!
