Steelers bringing Christian Kuntz back on multi-year deal

The new NFL league year is officially underway as of 4pm EST Wednesday, and teams around the league are starting to finalize deals which have been in the works since the tampering period began Monday.

For the Pittsburgh Steelers, they continue to work out the details on several free agents, some of them being their own.

According to Chris Halicke of DK Pittsburgh Sports, the Steelers are signing long snapper Christian Kuntz to a multi-year contract.

Kuntz being retained, along with the team signing punter Cameron Johnston, it means the Steelers “battery” of their long snapper, punter/holder, and place kicker are all set for the 2024 season with Chris Boswell handling the kicking duties again.

What’s next for the Steelers? They still need to address the safety position, the defensive line, interior offensive line, and wide receiver after the trade of Diontae Johnson Tuesday.

Be sure to stay tuned to SCN for the latest news and notes surrounding the Steelers as they continue to get their roster in line as the new league year presses on.
