Steelers are able to escape their win over the Jets without serious injury

The Pittsburgh Steelers are coming off a big victory over the New York Jets in Week 7 in prime time, and, for once, the Steelers didn’t just escape with a win…they didn’t suffer any major injuries along the way.

Following the game Mike Tomlin gave an update on players who left the game and were unable to return. The first name was defensive lineman Montravius Adams. Adams suffered a knee injury during the game, tried to return, but was unable to do so and was ruled out of the game. Tomlin stated he will need further evaluation.

Another player who has been dealing with an injury the past few weeks was cornerback Donte Jackson. Last week Jackson injured his shoulder in the win over the Las Vegas Raiders, but didn’t miss any practice time. He injured a shoulder vs. the Jets and was unable to return. Tomlin didn’t specify if it was the same shoulder, or a different shoulder, which was injured in the Week 7 win.

James Pierre filled in for Jackson while he was out of the lineup.

The best news for the Steelers, and their fans, might be the fact there were no injuries along the offensive line. That group has been absolutely decimated by injury this season, and for once they were able to get out of game without having to have someone else step up and play.

All in all, a pretty good day at the office for the Steelers all around.
