Steelers announce roster moves prior to the Week 11 Ravens game
The Pittsburgh Steelers are preparing for their first AFC North matchups of the 2024 season with a Week 11 home matchup vs. the Baltimore Ravens. The Steelers are somewhat healthy heading into this game, but there always is a need for the team to make some roster adjustments prior to a contest.
In this regard, we are talking about players who are either promoted to the active roster from the practice squad, or a roster move which sees someone waived as a player moves to the 53-man roster. Ahead of the Ravens game the Steelers have made the following roster moves:

The ninth overall pick of the 2020 NFL draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars, cornerback C.J. Henderson has yet to appear in a game for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024. Signed to their practice squad in September, Henderson was signed to the 53-man roster ahead of Week 8. Although he has been on the Steelers roster, Henderson was inactive both games. Now Henderson will miss a minimum of four games and may not be the best candidate for the Steelers to use a designated to return status since they only have eight for the season and have already used five.
Finding his way back to the Steelers 53-man roster is running back Jonathan Ward. After appearing in four games for the Steelers leading up to the bye week, Ward was released a week ago just ahead of the Steelers Week 10 matchup against the Commanders in order to make room on the roster for others returning from IR. But with Jaylen Warren questionable for Sunday’s game, the Steelers have added Ward back to the 53-man roster at least for a week. On the season, Ward has five carries for 22 yards but it also played 59 special team snaps.
Another announcement that was made earlier on Saturday was Corey Trice being downgraded from questionable to out for Sunday’s game.

Opening his 21-day window on Thursday, this was not necessarily about Trice being injured but simply not ready for the Steelers to put him back on the 53-man roster.
The Steelers also announced that cornerback Zion Gilbert was placed on the Practice Squad/Injured List.
