Steelers announce day/time of their Week 15 game vs. the Colts

When the NFL released it’s schedule this spring, there were some days/times missing on the slate of games. One of those games was the Week 15 game between the Steelers and Colts in Indianapolis.

Well, the NFL officially announced Thursday the game will be played on Saturday, December 16th at 4:30pm EST on the NFL Network.

When you look at how the Steelers remaining schedule unfolds, the decision to have this game on Saturday is an interesting one.

Week 13 will have the Steelers facing the Arizona Cardinals at home. The team then has to prepare for the New England Patriots at home in Week 14 on Thursday Night Football. So, instead of the typical 10 days rest following a Thursday night game, the team will have a slightly shorter rest before they travel to Indianapolis. Week 16 the team comes back to Pittsburgh for another Saturday game on December 23rd with the Cincinnati Bengals. The back-to-back Saturday games will give the Steelers a typical work week even though the days of the week might not mesh with what fans are accustomed to.

That is the final home game of the regular season before they travel to Seattle and Baltimore in Weeks 17 and 18. The game vs. the Seahawks will be a 4:05pm EST kickoff, with the Week 18 time not announced until the week prior so the NFL can maximize their viewership with key matchups.
