Let me take you back to January 2023. Shockingly, my colleague Bryan Anthony Davis received an email from our former employer telling us our podcast platform would no longer be supported by their platform in a month’s time. We don’t have to stop, but we won’t be able to receive any financial reimbursement for our work anymore.

To say we were shocked was an understatement.

But, like most times in my life when faced with adversity, I don’t wallow in self-pity. It doesn’t do any good. Instead, I started to plan for the future. We created such a strong following on our podcast platform, I felt it was necessary to continue. But where?

We had several meetings with different platforms, but then decided it might be a good idea to give other feeds who were sent the same email the option of continuing with us. What if we built a home for everyone who was just given the shaft?

Luckily, we were put in contact with a very smart businessman named Ken Wisnefski, and after a couple lengthy phone calls he decided he wanted to be a part of this project. The project required a lot of work, and also included re-branding.

The goal was always to turn FFSN into something much larger than just a home for podcast feeds, and I always wanted to grow SCN into something larger too. Little did I know that the email we received in January wasn’t a death sentence, but a new opportunity for a lot of people.

It’s true what they say, when one door closes, another one opens.

For those of you who have followed my work for SB Nation, you know we have built a pretty solid team of writers over the years. Little did I know that when we started FFSN it would create an opportunity for not just me, but an entire team of writers.

I’m beyond fortunate to welcome all of our readers to the Steel Curtain Network where you’ll see the likes of Dave Schofield, K.T. Smith, Bryan Anthony Davis, Shannon White, Tony Defeo, Andrew Wilbar, Jeremy Betz, Bradley Locker and even Michael Beck.

While the entire team didn’t come over to FFSN, we feel very special about what we have brewing here in our new home.

For those who were accustomed to our work at SB Nation, know our site will continue to develop as we continue to lay the foundation here at FFSN and SCN. The comment section will exist, and an app for your phone will make reading our content even easier than it was before. When it comes to approach, you’ll see an adjustment. Quality over quantity. Still the great content you demand, but less aggregating and more original content from our team of writers.

If I’m being honest, it is exciting just typing that. We aren’t trying to compete with the aggregators anymore, but to be the best original content provider for Pittsburgh Steelers fans everywhere. That includes both podcasts and the written word.
