Steel Curtain Network: A Pittsburgh Steelers podcast

SOURCE: The Steelers are far from finished adding to their roster

Almost the entire NFL landscape has fallen in love with the Pittsburgh Steelers 2024 NFL Draft.

From top-to-bottom, you see glowing marks for Omar Khan’s second draft as the team’s General Manager. The overall narratives surrounding the team might have some thinking the Steelers front office would sit back on Monday, kick their feet up and enjoy a brief moment to take in their successes this offseason.

Think again.

Monday afternoon I received a call from our source who said the Steelers are leaving no stone unturned as they hope to continue adding to the roster, even post-NFL Draft.

What would that look like? Well, it would have to be a trade, most likely including future draft capital. The Steelers have capital in 2025 to potentially spend on a trade, but that doesn’t mean the teams the Steelers are negotiating with would find what they are offering to be sufficient enough to make a trade.

To everyone’s disappointment, our source did not provide specific names of players, or even positions, the team would be targeting, but did say Omar Khan and company were working hard to make something happen to round out the roster. Leading up to the draft the Steelers had shown interest in both San Francisco 49ers wide receivers Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel. They have also been linked to Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton, although many reporters who cover the Broncos refute the report of Sutton potentially being on the trade block.

This does not mean anything is imminent, but know the Steelers are still working post-draft behind the scenes to make this roster even better after their seven draft picks in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Will something happen? Be sure to stay tuned to SCN for the latest news and notes surrounding the Steelers as they prepare for the rest of Organized Team Activities (OTAs) and Mandatory Minicamp.
