Week 5 of the 2024 NFL season is in the books. With all games complete, Steel Curtain Network’s survivor league has almost concluded.

One big question as things got going was how many contestants were entered. With all of league one being filled with 100 contestants, league two capped out at 51 entries. Since I am entered in both leagues in order to have access, this means 150 contestants are vying for the signed Mel Blount Steelers mini helmet.

With six contestants remaining, there were six different choices this week. Unfortunately, only half of the choices were correct. One contestant moved on early in the day as they picked the Minnesota Vikings over the New York Jets in London. Although the Jets did make it interesting late, the Vikings were able to hold on to the victory. But in another early game, the Indianapolis Colts allowed the Jacksonville Jaguars to get their first win of the season in a shootout with the Jaguars scoring the game-winning field goal with 0:17 remaining. This eliminated one contestant who had chosen Indianapolis.

Another early game, which did not end so early as it went to overtime, saw another contestant going through with the Baltimore Ravens coming back to defeat the Cincinnati Bengals. The only other correct selection came in the 4 PM games with the Green Bay Packers holding off the Los Angeles Rams.

As for the other two eliminations, the San Francisco 49ers couldn’t put any points on the board in the second half and fell to the Arizona Cardinals, eliminating another contestant. The final elimination came with the Seattle Seahawks lining up for a game-tying field goal only to see it blocked and returned for a touchdown.

In league one, there were two contestants eliminated, so there are three who will go on in the contest. As for league two, the final contestant was eliminated so no one remains in the contest. With only three contestants left, this thing could be over any week. The three contestants remaining are:
