SCN’s Survivor Contest: Week 5 Results

Week 5 of the 2023 NFL season is in the books. With all games complete, Steel Curtain Network’s survivor league has now claimed only a few more victims.

With starting a new venture, there are not as many contestants this season as in year’s past who are in the running for the Donnie Shell football. With all of league one being filled with 100 contestants, league two capped out at 64 entries. Since I am entered in both leagues in order to have access, this means 163 contestants are vying for the signed Donnie Shell Hall of Fame football.

The most common choice in the contest this week was the Detroit Lions over the Carolina Panthers. There were 23 contestants between the two leagues that picked this game with there being 14 in League 1 and 9 in League 2. This game was never really in doubt as the Lions were up two scores after the first quarter.

The next most popular pick was the Miami Dolphins over the New York Giants with 18 selections. The Dolphins jumped out to a 14-0 lead and the Giants only every got to within four points briefly but were almost doubled up by the end of the game.

When it came to the most common incorrect choice, there were three games as 4 contestants chose the Washington Commanders to defeat the Chicago Bears, two chose the Houston Texans over the Atlanta Falcons, and one selected the Buffalo Bills over the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. Additionally, one contestant failed to make their picks in time.

In League 1, there were 2 contestants eliminated with 26 going on in the contest. As for League 2, 6 contestants were eliminated with 16 moving through.

For those who are still in the contest, Week 6 is open and ready for you to make your next selection. Make sure you get in there and make your choice early as the selection can be changed up until 1 PM EST on Sunday. Just because the Steelers are on a bye doesn’t mean the contest doesn’t continue!
