Week 3 of the 2024 NFL season is in the books. With all games complete, Steel Curtain Network’s survivor league has now claimed it’s highest percentage of victims yet (86% of those left).

One big question as things got going was how many contestants were entered. With all of league one being filled with 100 contestants, league two capped out at 51 entries. Since I am entered in both leagues in order to have access, this means 150 contestants are vying for the signed Mel Blount Steelers mini helmet.

The most common choice in the contest was for the Las Vegas Raiders to defeat the Carolina Panthers. There were 9 contestants in the first league choosing Vegas and 5 in the second. This week, the most popular choice fell flat as the Panthers handled the Raiders pretty easily and sent 14 of the remaining contestants home.

The second most popular pick was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers over the Denver Broncos. With 7 entries in league one choosing Tampa and another four in league two, there were a lot of people who probably shocked as the Broncos held a 20-7 halftime advantage. The Broncos held on to pull off the upset and sent 11 contestants packing.

There were two more choices that sent a lot of people home. there were 8 contestants eliminated by picking the Cleveland Browns over the New York Giants and 7 who chose the Cincinnati Bengals over the Washington Commanders. As for the other incorrect choices they included the San Francisco 49ers over the Los Angeles Rams (2), and the Chicago Bears over the Indianapolis Colts (1). Fortunately, no contestants failed to make their picks in time.

As for correct picks, the only game with more than one choice was the Buffalo Bills over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday night, but it was only 2 entries. The other five correct choices were the Detroit Lions, Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers, New York Jets, and Indianapolis Colts.

In league one, there were 25 contestants eliminated with 5 going on in the contest. As for league two, 18 contestants were eliminated with 2 moving through. With 7 contestants left in total, this thing may be over sooner than later.
