Week 12 of the 2024 NFL season is in the books. With all games complete, Steel Curtain Network’s survivor league has concluded for the 2024 season.

One big question as things got going was how many contestants were entered. With all of league one being filled with 100 contestants, league two capped out at 51 entries. Since I am entered in both leagues in order to have access, this means 150 contestants are vying for the signed Mel Blount Steelers mini helmet.

With two contestants remaining, there was always the chance they would pick the same game. This was not the case as one contestant went out on a big limb to pick a road team on Thursday night, especially traveling to an AFC North opponent. That’s right, the contest came to a close because one contestant chose the Pittsburgh Steelers to defeat the Cleveland Browns on the road on a short week against a team that is 9-1 at home on Thursday since TNF returned in 2006. Falling behind by 12 points in the fourth quarter, the Steelers took the lead 6:01 later. But there was enough time to give the Browns multiple opportunities and the Steelers suffered their third loss of the season.

The only way the contest would move on to Week 13 is if both contestants were eliminated, which almost happened. Taking what was a very safe bet of the Kansas City Chiefs over the Carolina Panthers, the Panthers actually tied the game with less than two minutes to go in the game. But Patrick Mahommes did his thing and Chiefs kicked a field goal as time expired ending our contest for 2024.
