Week 11 of the 2023 NFL season is in the books. With all games complete, Steel Curtain Network’s survivor league is now down to single digits.

With starting a new venture, there are not as many contestants this season as in year’s past who are in the running for the Donnie Shell football. With all of league one being filled with 100 contestants, league two capped out at 64 entries. Since I am entered in both leagues in order to have access, this means 163 contestants are vying for the signed Donnie Shell Hall of Fame football.

This week there were some slight changes to the numbers as the 10 remaining contestants were whittled down to 8. The most common selection saw three contestants, one from League 1 and two from League 2, pick the Houston Texans to defeat the Arizona Cardinals. Even though the Cardinals struck first, the Texans had a two-score lead by halftime. With only 6 combined points in the second half, the Texans held on and the Cardinals secured a losing record for the 2023 season.

The next most popular games that were chosen were a tie where two contestants from League 1 selected the Detroit Lions over the Chicago Bears and two contestants from League 2 picked the Jacksonville Jaguars over the Tennessee Titans. The Lions scored 17 points in the final 3.5 minutes to move ahead of the Bears while the Jaguars were all over the Titans from the very beginning.

The third game that was tied with two selections were two choices from League 1 who picked the Washington Commanders to defeat the New York Giants. But the Giants grabbed the lead and never surrendered it and sent two more contestants packing.

So for those keeping track, there are three contestants in League 1 and five in League 2. There are three more weeks until those remaining have to make two choices each week.

For those who are still in the contest, Week 12 is open and ready for you to make your next selection. Make sure you get in there and make your choice early as the selection can be changed up until 1 PM EST on Sunday. If you are choosing a game on Thanksgiving or Black Friday, it must be selected before kickoff.
