Week 13 of the 2023 NFL season, as well as the SCN Survivor contest is in the books. That’s right! With all games complete, Steel Curtain Network’s survivor league is down to only one remaining contestant.

With starting a new venture, there were not as many contestants this season as in year’s past who were in the running for the Donnie Shell football. With all of league one being filled with 100 contestants, league two capped out at 64 entries. Since I was entered in both leagues in order to have access, this means 163 contestants were vying for the signed Donnie Shell Hall of Fame football. And now it has been claimed.

There were 5 contestants left entering the week and they chose from three different games. The only correct option was the first game complete with the choice of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers taking down the Carolina Panthers. Even though the Panthers had a chance to tie the game down three late in the fourth quarter, an interception on fourth down gave the ball back to the Bucs who never gave it back and secured the victory.

The next game to finish was another 1 PM kick offthat lasted much later into the evening. Two of the final five contestants chose the Pittsburgh Steelers over the Arizona Cardinals, but our beloved team let them down in a game I don’t even want to recap.

The final two contestants had waited until Monday night to determine their fate and chose the Jacksonville Jaguars, who were 10-point favorites, over the Cincinnati Bengals. But the Bengals offense got going, and the late injury to Trevor Lawrence hindered the Jaguars enough for the Bengals to get the overtime winner.
