In the second injury report of the week courtesy of the Steelers PR Department, there were three players that did not practice while two were limited

The big news from Thursday’s injury report is the addition of Russell Wilson who was limited with calf tightness. It was a calf injury that hindered Wilson’s participation throughout training camp, so seeing the injury pop back up is quite concerning. While reports and speculation will undoubtedly run amok, it will be Wilson’s participation on Friday that will be the most telling.
The other new name on the injury report is Darnell Washington who missed practice with a knee injury, putting his status for Sunday’s game in question with one practice to go this week.
On Tuesday, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin ruled out guard Isaac Seumalo with his pectoral injury as he described him as being “week-to-week.” As expected, Seumalo did not participate in practice on Wednesday or Thursday.
Rookie defensive lineman Logan Lee was the other player who did not participate on Wednesday. Lee missed the Steelers final preseason game with what is now known to be a calf injury. On Thursday, Lee once again did not practice almost locking in his place on Sunday’s inactive list.
After missing all of the preseason, rookie wide receiver Roman Wilson was limited on Wednesday and Thursday with an ankle injury. Wilson participating in practice at all is a positive sign, but his availability for Sunday is in the air.
Injured in the first preseason game, rookie first-round draft pick Troy Fautanu was limited on Wednesday with his knee injury despite getting in his most work in weeks. On Thursday, Fautanu moved to a full participant, and good sign he will be available on Sunday.
The other two limited players On Wednesday on the injury report were running back Jaylen Warren with a hamstring injury and cornerback Cory Trice with a groin injury. Both players are working their way back and their progression through the week will ultimately determine their availability for Week 1. On Thursday, both players returned as full participants.
