Russell Wilson joins the Pro Bowl Games as another Steelers alternate

There aren’t a lot of football fans who are looking forward to the NFL Pro Bowl Games this weekend, but for some players they do look forward to it. Not only do some see it as an extra pay check, but it is a feather in their proverbial cap to which they can put on their resume if/when they are looking for a new contract.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have several players who are attending the Pro Bowl games, and you can add another name to the list. That would be quarterback Russell Wilson, who is attending the games due to Josh Allen backing out due to injury.

Wilson will join a group of Steelers who were selected to the Pro Bowl Games that includes Chris Boswell, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Cameron Heyward and T.J. Watt, who were voted in as starters, as well as special teams ace Miles Killebrew, who was named as an injury replacement, and Isaac Seumalo, who was added earlier Tuesday due to injury. Watt won’t participate because of an injury.

This per the Steelers official Twitter/X account:

Wilson will be making his 10th Pro Bowl appearance (2012-15, 2017-21, 2024), which is tied for fifth-most among quarterbacks in NFL history.

Wilson started the final 11 games of the 2024 season after coming back from a calf injury he suffered at the start of training camp.

Wilson completed 214 of 336 passes (63.7%) for 2,482 yards and 16 touchdowns and five interceptions. He also had 43 rushes for 155 yards and two touchdowns.
