Rookie Keeanu Benton leaves the Steelers first preseason game with an ankle injury
The Pittsburgh Steelers have just finished three quarters of their first preseason game of the 2023 NFL season. With many highlights from the game, there are also plenty of learning points as well. But one of the most critical issues when it comes to a preseason game is leaving unscathed on the injury front.
Unfortunately, one of the Steelers 2023 draft class has left the game with an ankle injury and is not expected to return. According to Dale Lolley of Steelers.com, Keeanu Benton’s night is finished.

While it is unfortunate that Benton has left the game, the biggest concern is in regard to his ongoing health for the remainder of the preseason. It is unknown as to the severity of the injury at this time.
During the game, Benton had three tackles with one of which being for a loss. Benton made a key play on a fourth down attempt by Tampa Bay where he pushed the offensive line back for the second consecutive play.
