Opening odds for Steelers vs. Falcons, Week 1
The 2024 NFL regular season schedule has been officially released, and that means it’s time to take a look at the way-too-early odds for the Week 1 games. For the Pittsburgh Steelers they are on the road to kick off the season with a trip to Atlanta to play the Falcons.
There will be plenty of storylines leading up to the Steelers vs. Falcons game, none larger than Arthur Smith’s return to where he was the head coach the last three seasons.
Smith has a new team, and a vastly new roster, but will the Steelers be favored in the first game of 2024? Let’s take a look at the early odds:
Point spread: Steelers +2.5
Over/Under: 43.5
Moneyline Odds: Falcons -142, Steelers +120
Despite the changes at several positions, none larger than quarterback, the Steelers are getting points on the road. And anyone who tracks the odds for football games knows there is a standard 3-point spread given to the home team on a weekly basis. So, the fact the Steelers are getting 2.5, and not the typical 3-points, should be notable. Especially after the Falcons brought in Kirk Cousins to be their quarterback, and look to be a bigger challenge than many Steelers fans might want to admit.
With all that said, if you were to put money on this game, what would you do? Would you take the Steelers +2.5? Or does this game give you trepidation? Let us know your thoughts below, and be sure to stay tuned to SCN for the latest news and notes surrounding the Steelers as they press on throughout the rest of the 2024 offseason.
