Only 2 players miss Steelers practice on Monday
The Pittsburgh Steelers are moving along through the 2024 NFL season and are back in action with a quick turnaround for a Christmas Day game hosting the Kansas City Chiefs. As Steelers were actually on the practice field on Monday, albeit just a walkthrough, they are required to give an injury report even if it isn’t a full practice. In preparation for the Chiefs, there were two players who did not participate while one was limited. In the second injury report of the week courtesy of the Steelers PR Department, no new names appear on the list.

The Steelers had five players who missed their Week 16 game due to injury, but head coach Mike Tomlin said in his press conference they all have a real chance to play on Wednesday. Those players include quarterback Justin Fields, wide receiver George Pickens, safety DeShon Elliott, cornerback Donte Jackson, and defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi. In the first projected injury report, Justin Fields was projected to not practice while the other four players were all listed as limited. Monday’s walkthrough brought a step up for all players as Fields progressed to a limited participant while the other four players were all full.
The Steelers also had two players who were not able to complete the game on Saturday due to injury. Cornerback Joey Porter Jr. left with a knee injury while wide receiver Ben Skowronek left with a hip injury. In the first injury report, it is projected that neither player would have been a participant. When the Steelers were on the field Monday, both players once again did not practice.
The only other player on the list due to injury is linebacker Tyler Matakevich who is listed as not practicing on Sunday due to a knee injury. Monday saw Matakevich back as a full participant.
As is typically the case this late in the season, there were a number of players who would not have practiced Sunday simply due to getting rest. Those players include wide receiver Mike Williams, linebacker Elandon Roberts, guard Isaac Seumalo, linebacker T.J. Watt, and defensive tackle Cam Heyward. Monday had all five players as full participants in the Steelers’ walkthrough.
