One player who has been essentially ruled out for Sunday is outside linebacker Alex Highsmith with a groin injury. It was not a surprise to see Highsmith did not participate in practice on Wednesday or Thursday.

Two other players who missed the Steelers last game and did not practice last week were running back Jaylen Warren and tight end MyCole Pruitt both with knee injuries. To start this week both Warren and Pruitt were held out of practice Wednesday. On Thursday, neither way able to return making their participation for Sunday night’s game look bleak.

After missing the first four games of the season, there is hope guard Isaac Seumalo can return to a Steelers offensive line that has been decimated by injuries. Returning to practice last week as a limited participant each day, Seumalo began this week as a full participant in practice. Thursday brought another full practice for Semualo, meaning barring a setback he looks as if he should be good-to-go vs. the Cowboys.

After being the third quarterback the first four games due to a calf injury, quarterback Russell Wilson is continuing to work his way back into the lineup as Justin Fields gets more preparation. On Wednesday, Wilson was limited once again with the same calf injury which has sidelined him since before the regular season began. On Thursday it was status quo for Wilson as he remained limited in his participation at practice.

There were several players from the Steelers loss in Week 4 who were banged up and landed on the injury report to start this week. Nick Herbig is dealing with an ankle injury and did not practice on Wednesday while on Thursday he moved to a limited participant. Cordarrelle Patterson did not finish last Sunday’s game with his ankle injury and did not practice on Wednesday. Thursday he didn’t participate for a second straight day. Keeanu Benton is also dealing with an ankle issue that had him limited on Wednesday, but he was able to be a full participant Thursday.

The only new addition to the injury report was defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi who was limited in practice Thursday with a groin injury.
