NFL Power Rankings: Steelers near the Top 10 after offseason moves

It’s the offseason, and that means it is time when content creators might have to work overtime to fill quotas and ensure fans get something fresh to consume on multiple fronts. One of the ways websites tend to fill some of that dead space is with periodic Power Rankings articles. Most of the times these are nothing but fluff, but there are times when there is some validity to these rankings.

After the first wave of free agency is one of those times.

How have teams improved their rosters compared to players they might have lost when the new league year began over two weeks ago? ESPN recently updated their offseason rankings, and the Steelers saw a significant jump after their multiple moved this offseason, none larger than the complete revamping of the quarterback position.

Let’s take a look at the Top 10 in the rankings, and where the Steelers reside heading into the 2024 NFL Draft:

NFL Power Rankings

1. Kansas City Chiefs
2. Detroit Lions
3. San Francisco 49ers
4. Baltimore Ravens
5. Buffalo Bills
6. Miami Dolphins
7. Philadelphia Eagles
8. Houston Texans
9. Dallas Cowboys
10. Green Bay Packers

13. Pittsburgh Steelers

Under-the-radar move: Signing ILB Patrick Queen

“It’s hard to qualify signing the top free agent inside linebacker as under the radar, but with the offensive moves getting all the love, adding Queen might be overlooked. He is the kind of well-rounded linebacker the team has searched for since Ryan Shazier’s career-ending injury in 2017.

“Queen more than fortifies a position of need, joining Elandon Roberts and a recovering Cole Holcomb. Queen’s presence should go a long way toward slowing the top-tier run games of divisional opponents.”

What about the entire AFC North? Where do they rank? Let’s take a look…

4. Baltimore Ravens
11. Cincinnati Bengals
12. Cleveland Browns
13. Pittsburgh Steelers
