After having the bye week, the Steelers have several players who are looking to get back onto the field this Sunday. Players who have missed games recently such as Zach Frazier, Nick Herbig, and Cordarrelle Patterson all were back on the practice field on Wednesday. Nick Herbig returned in a limited fashion on Wednesday while both Frazier and Patterson were full participants. On Thursday, there were no changes as Herbig was limited while Frazier and Patterson were full.
Two players who landed on this list are ones who are not on the 53-man roster but are designated to return from IR. Tyler Matakevich is hoping to get back on the field for the Steelers and was a full participant on Wednesday. Additionally, wide receiver Ben Skowronek had his 21-day window opened on Wednesday and was also a full participant. Both players were full participants on Thursday.
Although he did not technically miss the game, Justin Fields was the third quarterback option for the Steelers in Week 7 as he was dealing with a hamstring injury. On Wednesday and Thursday, Fields was able to be a full participant in practice.
There were two players who did not participate in practice on Wednesday. The first was safety Terrell Edmunds who missed practice due to an illness. The other was guard Isaac Seumalo who was given the day off for rest. On Thursday, Edmunds was still out with his illness while Seumalo was back as a full participant.
In what has become the routine, Cam Heyward was added to the injury report as he was given the day off on Thursday due to rest.
The only addition to the injury report that is due to injury is to tight end MyCole Pruitt with a knee injury. The extent of the injury, or if it will affect Pruitt’s availability for Sunday’s game, is not known at this time.
