Minkah Fitzpatrick one of 6 Steelers who missed practice Wednesday

The Pittsburgh Steelers are facing another AFC North road challenge in Ohio. As teams across the NFL are dealing with various injuries, the Steelers are hopeful to get an All-Pro player back this week after missing the last three games.

In the first injury report this week courtesy of Steelers.com, there are nine names that appear on the list, with three players who were limited while six missed practice.

One player who Steelers fans are keeping their eyes on is All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrik. Missing their last three games after leaving early in Week 8, Fitzpatrick did not practice on Wednesday. While this designation does not give a definitive answer for Fitzpatrick’s status for Sunday’s game, it is not a good start to the week.

The other player who missed Sunday’s game due to injury for the Steelers was defensive tackle Montravius Adams with an ankle. On Wednesday, Adams was able to return in a limited capacity

One other player who did miss practice on Wednesday due to injury was wide receiver George Pickens with a shin injury. Pickens was not mentioned by head coach Mike Tomlin in Tuesday’s press conference as dealing with an injury, so hopefully missing Wednesday was more preventative than anything else.

There were two other players other than Adams who were limited in Wednesday’s practice. Cornerback James Pierre was limited with a shoulder while outside linebacker Nick Herbig’s hamstring kept him from being a full participant. Both players will be ones to keep an eye on as the week progresses.

There were four players on the Steelers who did not practice on Wednesday not due to injury but due to getting extra rest. Two players who did the same thing last week were cornerback Patrick Peterson and guard Isaac Seumalo. Joining them on the “Not Injury Related” list were cornerback Levi Wallace and defensive tackle Cam Heyward.
