Kenny Pickett officially good to go for Thursday night

The Pittsburgh Steelers are coming off of a sloppy home loss to the Jaguars where two key players were knocked out of the game. But with their next matchup on Thursday, the Steelers have limited time to game plan and get players healthy enough to suit up.

In the final injury report this week courtesy of Steelers.com, it is the only list from an actual practice all week as the Steelers held a walk through on Tuesday. The Steelers have one player ruled out for Thursday night and one other listed as questionable.

With Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin holding his weekly press conference on Monday, he already announced that safety Minkah Fitzpatrick would be out for Thursday’s game. For this reason, it’s not a surprise to see Fitzpatrick would not have practiced Monday or Tuesday. Fitzpatrick did not practice on Wednesday and has been ruled out for Thursday night.

One player who Coach Tomlin said the Steelers were leaving the door open for is quarterback Kenny Pickett. With Coach Tomlin saying that Wednesday’s practice will be key in determining Pickett’s injury status for the game, it’s no surprise to see that he was listed as limited on Monday had the Steelers held practice. On Tuesday, Pickett was again listed as limited but spoke to the media after practice and said he is playing on Thursday. Wednesday saw Pickett as a full participant and he has no injury status for Week 9.

Missing this past game due to a foot injury, cornerback Levi Wallace was estimated to be limited both Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday, Wallace was listed as limited and is once again questionable to play this week.

Another player in the secondary who was projected as limited on Monday was Damontae Kazee with a hand injury. On Tuesday, Kazee was estimated to be a full participant. Wednesday saw Kazee as a full participant once again and he caries no injury status for tomorrow night.

Additionally, both players who are in their 21-day window to return from the Reserve/Injured List, Cam Heyward and Anthony McFarland, were both listed as limited on Monday. On Tuesday both players were estimated as full. Wednesday saw both players fully practicing and the Steelers have until 4 PM on Thursday to activate either player to the 53-man roster.
