Joey Porter Jr. one of several new names on Thursday’s injury report
The Pittsburgh Steelers are coming off their second trip to the Pacific time zone this season and once again were victorious. Not only did the Steelers push their record to 4-2, they also left Los Angles fairly healthy.
In the second injury report this week courtesy of Steelers.com, there are four new names that appear on the list, but only two who missed practice.

It should be noted that Cam Heyward is a new name on the list simply because he returned to practice and opened up his 21-day window to return to the 53-man roster. In his first practice back, he was listed as a limited participant.
Joey Porter Jr. was a player who showed up on Thursday’s report as a new addition as he was limited with a calf injury. But according to Joe Rutter of the Pittsburgh Tribune Review, Porter expects to play on Sunday.
Joey Porter Jr had a wrap on his right calf that he said limited his practice participation. He said it was precautionary and expects to play against Jacksonville.

The two most concerning additions to the injury report are players who did not practice Thursday. Diontae Johnson showed up back on the injury report with his hamstring injury as he did not participate. Another person who is very familiar with the injury list is defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi who had finally been off the list for the last two weeks but missed Thursday’s practice due to a shoulder injury.
While it was believed that Cole Holcomb could possibly miss practice or be limited early in the week with his ankle injury that caused him to miss some snaps on Sunday, Holcomb was listed as a full participant in the Steelers first two practices of the week. Additionally, Anthony McFarland was a full participant both days as well as he is coming back from the Reserve/Injured List (IR) but has not been added to the 53-man roster yet.
Of the three players who missed practice on Wednesday for the Steelers, only one was due to injury. Cornerback Levi Wallace did not practice and is listed as having a foot injury. He was not a player who was discussed by Mike Tomlin during his Tuesday press conference as someone who was on the injury radar. On Thursday Wallace returned in a limited capacity.
Offensive lineman Nate Herbig missed Wednesday’s practice as well but due to an illness. On Thursday, Herbig returned as a full participant. Additionally, Isaac Seumalo missed practice Wednesday but simply as a veterans day off. Seumalo was removed from the report altogether on Thursday.
The only other player on the injury report Wednesday was Patrick Peterson who is limited but not due to injury and was removed from Thursday’s report like Seumalo.
