Jaylen Warren starting to get national attention for his stellar play

In 2022, or early 2023, Jaylen Warren could have been considered a player who might be an afterthought for the opposition. After all, on paper he’s nothing more than a diminutive back-up.

However, Pittsburgh Steelers fans know all about the potential which resides within Jaylen Warren, he just needed an opportunity. So far this season Warren has been getting that opportunity and making the most of it. All the way to the point Warren is starting to get national media attention for his performances.

Most recently, Warren was named the FedEx Ground Player of the Week for his performance vs. the Cleveland Browns.

Despite it being a loss, Warren won for his impressive performance where he rushed for 129 yards on nine carries (14.3 avg.) and one touchdown in Week 11.

By winning the FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week Award, FedEx will make a $2,000 donation in Warren’s name to a Historically Black College or University (HBCU), which will be applied towards needs-based scholarships to deserving HBCU students.

That wasn’t the only national recognition Warren received. He also was awarded the “Angry Run of the Week” by NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt for his bruising run vs. Cleveland.

Don’t look now, but Jaylen Warren is starting to become a household name outside of the Pittsburgh Steelers fan base. All of this while not getting a full allotment of carries with him still behind Najee Harris on the depth chart. But as his play improves, so might Warren’s workload.
