How the Steelers physically imposed their will on the Seahawks in Week 17

The Pittsburgh Steelers are coming off one of their best performances of the season, especially on offense. The Steelers offense didn’t just run the ball, they imposed their will on the Seattle Seahawks’ defensive front. Sure, former Steelers inside linebacker, and first round pick, Devin Bush had 17 total tackles, but many of those were while jumping on the backs of Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren.

When it comes to the Steelers’ running attack, the performance on Sunday in Seattle is worthy of further inspection. What exactly did the Steelers, both schematically and with their execution, do different compared to previous weeks? Was it about the coaching plan put together by Eddie Faulkner and Mike Sullivan? Was it due to the poor Seattle run defense?

Regardless of the “why”, the “how” is something we here at SCN decided to dive deeper into to see exactly what the Steelers did to maximize their run game potential. That is exactly why our own Coach KT Smith headed to the All-22 film to see just what the Steelers did to amass 202 yards on 46 carries, 14 of those going for first downs. It was quite the performance, and you’ll learn a lot about the schematics up front in the latest Call Sheet Breakdown video on our SCN YouTube channel.
