George Pickens returns to practice as a limited participant on Thursday

The Pittsburgh Steelers are facing another AFC North road challenge in Ohio. As teams across the NFL are dealing with various injuries, the Steelers are hopeful to get an All-Pro player back this week after missing the last three games.

In the second injury report this week courtesy of Steelers.com, there are no new names that appear on the list, with only one player who missed practice on Thanksgiving.

Pittsburgh Steelers Participation/Injury Report, Week 12

Thursday, November 23

No. 14 WR George Pickens (Shin) – Limited
No. 39 S Minkah Fitzpatrick (Hamstring) – DNP
No. 42 CB James Pierre (Shoulder) – Limited
No. 51 LB Nick Herbig (Hamstring) – Limited
No. 57 DT Montravius Adams (Ankle) – Limited
No. 97 DT Cam Heyward (NIR – Resting/Groin) – Limited

One player who Steelers fans are keeping their eyes on is All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrik. Missing their last three games after leaving early in Week 8, Fitzpatrick did not practice on Wednesday. Although Fitzpatrick may not need practice every day to be ready on a normal week, having already missed so much time would likely see him needing to participate. On Thursday, Fitzpatrick was the only player who did not practice.

The other player who missed Sunday’s game due to injury for the Steelers was defensive tackle Montravius Adams with an ankle. On Wednesday, Adams was able to return in a limited capacity. Thursday saw Adams once again as a limited participant.

One other player who did miss practice on Wednesday due to injury was wide receiver George Pickens with a shin injury. Pickens was not mentioned by head coach Mike Tomlin in Tuesday’s press conference as dealing with an injury. On Thursday, Pickens returned to practice but was limited.

There were two other players other than Adams who were limited in Wednesday’s practice. Cornerback James Pierre was limited with a shoulder while outside linebacker Nick Herbig’s hamstring kept him from being a full participant. For Thursday’s practice, both players were once again limited.

There were four players on the Steelers who did not practice on Wednesday not due to injury but due to getting extra rest. Two players who did the same thing last week were cornerback Patrick Peterson and guard Isaac Seumalo. Joining them on the “Not Injury Related” list were cornerback Levi Wallace and defensive tackle Cam Heyward. On Thursday, three of the four names were removed from the report as they returned to practice. The only player who remained on the injury list was Cam Heyward who was limited on Thursday and has the added designation of dealing with his groin injury.
