Friday Night Steelers Six-Pack of Questions: The waiting is the hardest part…

The season is over, and as Mike Tomlin said Thursday, “This sucks.”

It will be a long time till the Steelers take the field again, and that can be a tough pill to swallow. There are plenty of stepping stones along the way, starting with the new league year beginning March 13th, but it will be your typical long offseason. That doesn’t mean there won’t be excitement, there will be PLENTY with the Steelers looking to hire a new offensive coordinator, and plenty other staffing changes on the docket. Not to mention the changes made on the roster.

So, let’s get this questions and answer session started, but remember the rules: Announce your beverage of choice, what you’re eating, and, if you want, the music you’ve been listening to lately. As for me, I’m having the stock kombucha, with some unstuffed cabbage rolls and the music of choice is some John Mayer on the turntable.

Now let’s get to the questions…

1. When you look at the offensive coaching staff, who are the coaches you would retain, and who would you hope gets shipped away with the new coordinator?

2. Outside of injuries, what do you think was the worst part of the 2023 season which saw them make the playoffs but not win a playoff game?

3. After the season, how would you grade Omar Khan with a full year as GM under his belt?

4. List your Top 5 team needs, by position, this offseason.

5. Would you draft a quarterback this year? If so, who are you targeting? If not, why not?

6. The mid-Atlantic just got hit by another snow storm. This one over-achieved, unlike the Steelers, and we now have close to 8″ of snow on the ground. My wife and I were having this discussion as we shoveled today. How do you clear snow…

  • Wait till it’s completely done
  • Tackle it a little at a time?

Obviously, we are a little at a time people, but I’m curious what you are (if you have snow in your area).
