Fitzpatrick, Adams ruled OUT for Steelers on Sunday

The Pittsburgh Steelers are coming out of their first mini bye and are looking to once again stack victories. Heading into the second half of the 2023 season, the Steelers are hoping to get even more of their injured players back sooner or later.

In the final injury report this week courtesy of Steelers.com, there are two players who have been ruled out for Sunday.

One player who Steelers fans are keeping their eyes on is All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrik. Missing all of their last game after leaving early in Week 8, Fitzpatrick did not practice on Wednesday. On Thursday, Fitzpartrick was once again not able to practice and it was looking more like Steelers fans will have to wait another week for a possible return. Friday brought another day of no practice for Fitzpatrick and he has been ruled out for Week 10.

The other player who did not practice for the Steelers on Wednesday or Thursday was defensive tackle Montravius Adams whose ankle injury knocked him out of the game early last Thursday night. Adams also was not able to go on Friday and has also been ruled out for Sunday.

With inside linebacker Cole Holcomb going on the Reserve/Injured List (IR) on Monday, a concerning sign was seeing the already thin inside linebacker group have a player listed on the report with Elandon Roberts being limited in practice on Wednesday due to a knee injury. What was even more concerning is to see Roberts move in the wrong direction on Thursday where he was unable to practice. On Friday, Roberts was back to a full participant and has no injury status for Sunday.

The final player on Wednesday’s injury list for the Steelers to start Week 10 was Cam Heyward with his groin injury where he just returned to the 53-man roster. Seeing Heyward go from limited to not practicing on Thursday was very concerning. But with his experience meaning he does not always have to practice as much as some players, Heyward returned as a limited participant on Friday but has no injury status and will therefore play on Sunday.

There was a new name on the injury report on Friday as Nick Herbig was listed as limited with a calf injury. But despite landing on the report, Herbig has no injury status for Week 10.
