Cory Trice starts 21-day window to return to the Steelers from IR
The Pittsburgh Steelers are continuing their preparation to face the Baltimore Ravens this Sunday at Acrisure Stadium. With many players returning from injury following the Steelers bye one week ago, one player who has been mentioned by Mike Tomlin in his last two press conferences in regards to a potential return is cornerback Cory Trice. On Thursday, the Steelers have announced that they have opened the 21-day window for Cory Trice to come off the Reserve/Injured List (IR). Trice will now be able to practice with the Steelers, but still does not count toward the 53-man roster.

Missing all of the 2023 season after being a seventh-round draft pick out of Purdue, Cory Trice came on strong for the Steelers in training camp. Through the first two weeks of the 2024 season, Trice had 27 defensive snaps and 17 special team snaps where he had two tackles and an interception. In Week 3, Trice only saw one defensive snap and two special teams snaps before exiting the game with a hamstring injury. Trice was eligible to return for the Steelers as soon as Week 8, but was not cleared to resume practice until now.
As a reminder, if Trice doesn’t return to the 53-man roster within the 21-day window, he would be placed on season-ending IR.
