Brian Baldinger paints an ugly picture of the Steelers
There is no denying the Pittsburgh Steelers aren’t in a good spot entering Week 5. Not only are the 3-1 Baltimore Ravens the next team on the docket, but the Steelers are struggling in every way imaginable.
- Offense can’t move the ball.
- Defense can’t seem to stop anyone.
- And injuries have become a major talking point the past few weeks.
If someone were to ask what is going wrong, it might be easier to tell them what might be going right…would certainly save you sometime.
Throughout the week following the Houston Texans dismantling the Steelers, national media have beaten and bashed the Steelers every way possible. But some pundits carry more weight than others. To me, one of those is a former player. Someone who has been in the trenches and put his hand in the proverbial pile.
That would be none other than NFL Network’s Brian “Baldy” Baldinger, and he did what he always does — took to his Twitter/X account to break down the week that was. Unfortunately for the Steelers, the picture he painted after Week 4 wasn’t pretty, but it was also necessary. Baldinger breaks down what he feels is wrong with the Steelers.
The breakdowns Baldinger did after the loss to the Texans was all surrounding the offense, which shouldn’t shock anyone. Check out the breakdowns below:
.@steelers are 1 of 6 or & struggling offenses in the first month and they all do similar things. Here is a small sample. #BaldysBreakdowns pic.twitter.com/uvsytxhgKb

.@steelers run “triple trap- Triple scoop”. It was their best run play…why only 3X? Make em stop you!! #HereWeGo #BaldysBreakdowns pic.twitter.com/6VjjBfPEkx

.@steelers its 4-1. Not 4-10. Not 4-15. Its 4th & 1. 36 inches to get a first down and give yourself a chance. Stop overthinking! #HereWeGo #BaldysBreakdowns pic.twitter.com/K71yQbWTE5

Do you see the Steelers rebounding in Week 5 vs. a familiar opponent? It seems like a pipe dream at this point, but you never know. That’s why they play the games. In the meantime, be sure to stay tuned to SCN for the latest news and notes surrounding the Steelers as they prepare for the Ravens on Sunday.
