Brian Baldinger impressed with a pair of Steelers rookies and Jaylen Warren
When it comes to those who cover the NFL at the national level, there are different types of talking heads. There are the “insiders” who merely are there to break stories and give insights into what is going on behind the scenes with teams. Then there are the hosts who simply work to navigate the waters with their co-hosts. Then there are the former players. The guys who at one point were in the trenches and love the game with every ounce of their being.
Those former players are people who I tend to lean on when it comes to evaluating players and talent in the league, but specifically the Pittsburgh Steelers. Of all those experts, Brian “Baldy” Baldinger might provide the most insight, mainly on his Twitter/X feed.
Following the Steelers big preseason win vs. the Buffalo Bills in Week 2 of the NFL preseason, Baldinger spoke glowingly of several players. To be specific, rookies Nick Herbig and Joey Porter Jr., as well as Jaylen Warren following his dynamic touchdown run in the first quarter.
No one does it better than “Baldy”, so enjoy these breakdowns of several Steelers following Week 2 of the preseason.
Nick Herbig

Joey Porter Jr.
.@Steelers @JoeyPorterJr with his first INT. Excellent technique. Not every corner had the length & strength to redirect a WR like this. More Bingos to come. #BaldysBreakdowns pic.twitter.com/s6hE98lEbp
