Bold and Bizarre Predictions for Week 13 vs. Arizona
After achieving 400 yards on offense for the first time in 58 games, the Steelers look to continue to fortify themselves as legitimate after the dismissal of Matt Canada as OC. It’s a lofty task. Of course, with everything going on, there comes a whole lotta predictions. With that being said, SCN’s resident Nostradumbass is back to do the deed again this week. The following are predictions, some basic, some bold and some absolutely bizarre.
- On a rainy day, Kenny Pickett airs it out a whole lot less, but still throws for 220 yards with a touchdown pass. His pick-free stretch of seven straight games without throwing an interception, ends, however. It’s only one, and nobody cares due to the fact that KP*’s confidence is back to start taking chances.
- George Pickens goes for 60 yards and Diontae Johnson gets 90, but neither reach the end zone. But it’s a victory, as nobody complains at the end of the game.
- Johnson receives some boos from the crowd, but they dissipate by showing maximum effort.
- Pat Freiermuth is targeted six times and pulls in every last one of them. No. 88 doesn’t have the prolific day that he enjoyed in his return last week, but Pat pulls in a touchdown.
- Chris Boswell is a perfect 3-for-3 on the day with a long of 45 yards.
- Arizona RB James Conner comes out to a standing ovation, as the hometown hero returns to play in front of the crowd that he started both his collegiate and professional careers.
- Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren run wild, combining for over 200 yards against a generous Cardinals Front 7. Both Jaylen and Najee score touchdowns and move closer to becoming only the second Steelers duo to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season. The feat hasn’t been accomplished since 1976 when the legendary tandem of Franco Harris and Rocky Bleier did it. After the game, the two running backs embrace Conner in an act of solidarity for on this date in 1944, the merger between the Cardinals and the Steelers during WW2 dissolved, denying the football world of Card-Pitt forever.
- T.J. Watt only gets one sack to up his total to 14.5 on the season. One of his takedowns is a strip sack of Kyler Murray.
- Joey Porter Jr., Minkah Fitzpatrick and Damontae Kazee all get interceptions by grabbing passes intended for Cards receivers thrown by Murray.
- The Steelers defense surrenders a 100+ rushing game to Conner, but the defense keeps Murray and his pass catchers at bay.
- Presley Harvin III hits two punts inside-the-20 and kicks one for 60+.
- The Steelers advance to 8-4 with an inspired offense. The black and gold eclipse both 30 points, but not for 400 total yards
Will any of this actually happen? I’ll bet at least one or two. Heck, maybe every one of them. Be sure to post your predictions — basic or bizarre — below.
