The Pittsburgh Steelers proved to be the better team this past Sunday, beating the Washington Commanders 28-27. In the process, the Steelers moved to 7-2 on the season with a big divisional matchup against their rival the Baltimore Ravens coming up. This game oozes intriguing story lines due to the familiarity of the Steelers biggest foe.

This week’s matchup has HUGE ramifications for the Division Standings, as the Steelers would have a 2 game advantage if they were to beat the Ravens, and moving into the meat of the schedule with winnable divisional games coming up. The Steelers have a chance to put themselves into really good position with a win on Sunday, however a loss would not be the end of the world, as it would put the Steelers into a tie with the Ravens in the loss column, with the Ravens still needing to take their Bye week.

However you look at it though, this is by far the biggest game of the Steelers season to this point, and this team has a chance to show themselves and others how legitimate they are as a threat to the rest of the AFC to not only GET to, but WIN another Super Bowl.

First, let’s go over the picks from last week. The Steel Money Crew (as opposed to former WR Mike Wallace’s self-proclaimed “Young Money Crew”) has a little bragging to do!

Review

Corey – I wasn’t doing too hot going into the Washington matchup, although several of the parlay’s over the weeks prior only missed by one leg. I wanted to get off the schneid and get a streak going, which meant getting back to the basics, and it got the desired results:

  • Steelers Points SPREAD: +3 (-118) – HIT
  • Steelers OVER Total Points: 45 (-110) – HIT
  • Anytime TD Scorer: George Pickens (+200) – HIT

Total Parlay Odds: +675

Winning Bet of $10 = $77.50

Jeff – Last week my parlay missed for the Steelers game vs. the Commanders. There was a time when I felt like as the season progressed I was getting better at picking my spots, but that has not been the case. My parlay struggles continue…

Here was my parlay from last week:

3 Leg Parlay

  • Steelers +3 (-118) HIT
  • Najee Harris 70+ rushing yards (+105) MISS
  • Russell Wilson 225+ passing yards (+108) MISS

Another parlay ruined, this one by the Pittsburgh Steelers offense not doing what we thought they would vs. the Commanders defense. I had a good feeling the Steelers would win the game, but I thought they’d move the ball better on offense than they did. Especially in the run game. Nonetheless, another loss, but maybe we’ll get lucky this week.

Dave – Well, the perfect streak had to end sometime. But even when I missed, I still at least Meat Loafed it. Even though “two out of three ain’t bad,” it does nothing for a parlay.

  • PIT on the moneyline (+120) HIT
  • George Pickens Receiving Yards: 70+ (+115) HIT
  • Russell Wilson Passing Yards: 225+ (+125) MISS

I thought Wilson for 225 yards was fairly safe, but it did not turn out to be the case. Will I learn my lesson this week? You’ll have to keep reading.

This Week’s Picks

Corey – If Lamar Jackson has one kryptonite, it is playing the Pittsburgh Steelers. His numbers against them speak for themselves, as he struggles against the Steelers like no other team. I like the Steelers to continue their dominance over him as the Ravens can put up points, but often give up as much as they score.

The Steelers are GETTING 3.5 points as Home Dogs?!? Sign me up!!! Jeff was barking about this all week, even on Pez’s Picks Pod, and I’ve got to agree. It was the only bet that I piggybacked on, as I try not to jump on Pez’s coattails too often.

With Russell Wilson at QB. the Steelers are averaging 30.3 Pts/gm, which actually would rank them 3rd in the NFL. Give me the OVER as I think the game is won by the first team to score 32, and this game has all the makings of the December 2017 shootout game where the final score was 39-38 Steelers.

With the Ravens owning the best Run D in the League, I didn’t feel like this was the week to give Harris or Warren a TD Scorer bet. With the Ravens also owning one of the worst Pass D’s in the League, I think the Wilson to Pickens connection is working some great magic right now, and I think they continue with another TD connection in this game.

  • Steelers Points SPREAD: +3.5 (-118)
  • OVER Total Points: 48.5 (-110)
  • Anytime TD Scorer: George Pickens (+130)

Total Parlay Odds: +495

Winning Bet of $10 = $59.50

Jeff – This week’s parlay…which I went even more conservative with, feels like a bunch of safe plays. I said the same thing last week, and we now how that played out. That’s fine with me, sometimes you just need to get a winner to get you off the losing streak.

3 Leg Parlay

  • Russell Wilson Passing TDs: 2+ (+110)
  • George Pickens Receptions: 4.5+ (-115)
  • PIT Total Points: 23.5+ (+110)

Total Odds: +380

Winning Bet of $10 = $48

Dave – I’m intentionally not taking a pick which has to do with who wins the game. Also, I’m a little more brave than Jeff with how many points I think the Steelers will score as the Ravens have given up 29 or more points in 4 of their last 6 games. I have the Steelers scoring at least 27 points with Wilson throwing multiple touchdowns and George Pickens being a target throughout the game. Win or lose, I think these things will happen so I’m going for it.

  • PIT Total Points: 26.5 (+180)
  • George Pickens Receiving Yards: 80+ (+135)
  • Russell Wilson Passing Touchdowns: 2 (+110)

Total Odds: +575

Winning Bet of $10 = $67.50
