Alex Highsmith unable to participate in Steelers practice on Wednesday

The Pittsburgh Steelers are moving along through the 2024 NFL season and are back on the road for another AFC North matchup as they head to Cincinnati to face the Bengals on Sunday. As the Steelers took the practice field for their first day with a required injury report in preparation for the Bengals, there were three players who did not participate while one was limited. In the first injury report of the week courtesy of the Steelers PR Department, six names appear on the list.

Pittsburgh Steelers Participation/Injury Report, Week 13

Wednesday, November 27

** No. 27 CB Cory Trice Jr. (Hamstring) – Full
No. 56 LB Alex Highsmith (Ankle) – DNP
** No. 57 DT Montravius Adams (Knee) – Full
No. 73 G Isaac Seumalo (NIR – Resting Vet) – DNP
No. 97 DT Cameron Heyward (NIR – Resting Vet) – DNP
No. 99 DT Larry Ogunjobi (NIR – Resting Vet) – Limited

** In designated 21-day window to return from Reserved/Injured List

One player many Steelers fans are looking to see his status this week is outside linebacker Alex Highsmith. Missing the last two games after injuring his ankle in Week 10 against the Washington Commanders, Highsmith has a chance to return this week after the Steelers “mini bye.” On Wednesday, Highsmith was unable to take the practice field with his teammates.

Two other names that appear on the list are players who are not on the 53-man roster but have had their 21-day windows open to return from the Reserve/Injured List (IR). Corey Trice is looking at his third game to potentially return after having his 21-day window opened on November 14th. Montravius Adams had his 21 day window open today as he is working back from a knee injury. On Wednesday, both players were full participants.

The other three names of the Steelers injury report were all players who missed time due to rest and were not injury related. Guard Isaac Seumalo and defensive tackle Cam Hayward both missed practice on Wednesday while Larry Ogunjobi was limited.

As for the Bengals injury report, it can be seen below when available courtesy of Steelers.com.

As is often the case when it comes to the injury report, it is the progression throughout the week that will give an indication to a player’s availability. For this reason, make sure you are checking back at Steel Curtain Network for Thursday’s and Friday’s injury report as well as continued coverage as the Steelers prepare for Sunday’s game against the Bengals.
