Alex Highsmith the only injured player to miss Steelers practice on Tuesday
The Pittsburgh Steelers are moving along through the 2024 NFL season and are back in action with a quick turnaround for their next AFC North matchup of the season as they travel to Cleveland for Thursday Night Football. The Steelers did get on the practice field for the first time on Tuesday despite it being the second day with an injury report. In preparation for the Browns, there were four players who did not participate while none were limited. In the second injury report of the week courtesy of the Steelers PR Department, no new names appear on the list.

Alex Highsmith was the only player who missed Tuesday’s practice due to injury. Missing the Steelers game on Sunday, there was little hope Highsmith would be ready this week. During Monday’s press conference, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said he had not checked in on Highsmith’s situation but considered him “more out than in.”
The other player who missed last week’s game due to injury is tight end MyCole Pruitt. Projected that he would have missed practice on Monday had the Steelers been on the field, Pruitt was a full participant on Tuesday which increases the likelihood he will be back for Thursday’s game.
On Monday there were five players who were projected to have missed practice due to rest. Those players were running back Najee Harris, guard Isaac Seumalo, linebacker T.J. Watt, tackle Cam Hayward, and defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi. On Tuesday, Harris and Watt took the practice field while Seumalo, Heyward, and Ogunjobi continued to rest.
One other player of note on the list who was a full participant was Cory Trice as he is looking to come off the designated to return list onto the 53-man roster. Whether or not the Steelers intend to bring Trice back to the roster for this week’s game will likely not be known until 4 PM on Thursday despite him continuing to practice.
