** In designated 21-day window to return from Reserved/Injured List

One player many Steelers fans are looking to see his status this week is outside linebacker Alex Highsmith. Missing the last two games after injuring his ankle in Week 10 against the Washington Commanders, Highsmith has a chance to return this week after the Steelers “mini bye.” On Wednesday, Highsmith was unable to take the practice field with his teammates. Thursday brought an upgrade as a limited participant with Friday being limited as well. Unfortunately, it appears Highsmith is at least another week away as he is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game.

Two other names that appear on the list are players who are not on the 53-man roster but have had their 21-day windows open to return from the Reserve/Injured List (IR). Corey Trice is looking at his third game to potentially return after having his 21-day window opened on November 14th. Montravius Adams had his 21 day window open today as he is working back from a knee injury. On Wednesday, both players were full participants while Thursday they were both limited. Friday saw both players limited again and they have each been ruled out and will not return to the Steelers 53-man roster ahead of Week 13.

The other three names on the Steelers injury report on Wednesday were all players who missed time due to rest and were not injury related. Guard Isaac Seumalo and defensive tackle Cam Hayward both missed practice on Wednesday while Larry Ogunjobi was limited. Thursday saw Seumalo and Ogunjobi return as full participants while Heyward had another day off. Friday had all players as full participants and none have an injury status.

When it came to the two new players on the list on Thursday, Damontae Kazee missed practice due to an illness. Another addition was Keeanu Benton and his knee injury which happened against the Ravens. Not appearing on the injury report at all last week, Benton was limited in practice on Thursday. Friday saw both players return as full participants and neither have an injury status for Sunday’s game.
