The Pittsburgh Steelers are preparing for the Philadelphia Eagles on the road in Week 15, but there is more on the line this week with the 10-3 Steelers having their first playoff clinching scenario this week.

So, how can the Steelers punch their ticket to the postseason? There are two ways they can claim at spot at the playoff table, and the first is by controlling their own destiny by beating the Eagles. However, even if they lose they could still clinch a playoff spot.

Pittsburgh Clinches Playoffs Berth with:

1. Pittsburgh win or tie
2. Miami loss or tie + IND loss or tie

For those who are curious, the Miami Dolphins travel to play the Houston Texans this Sunday at 1pm EST, and the Indianapolis Colts will travel to play the Denver Broncos at 4:25pm EST, the same time the Steelers will play the Eagles on the road.

The Steelers control their own destiny, and currently have a 99% chance of making the postseason, but clinching a playoff berth sooner than later is always a preferred method of doing business in the NFL. Once a playoff spot is secured, the Steelers can they turn their attention to other aspects of the race to the finish. Things like the AFC North, and which seed they could claim when the regular season is completed.
