AFC North Recap: Another perfect week for all four teams
Week 9 is officially in the rear view mirror for all four teams who call the AFC North home. The Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns were all active this past weekend, and another week where the entire division were big winners.
Time to take stock of what happened in the AFC North, and what is coming up…
Pittsburgh Steelers – 20
Tennessee Titans – 16
The Pittsburgh Steelers were in desperate need of a win, especially to get the ugly Week 8 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars out of their mouths. On a short week sometimes another game is the best bet, and while it wasn’t great, it was a win. The Steelers remain afloat in the division after this key victory on a short week. The hope now is the “mini-bye” week will help the team get healthy for the second half of the season.
Baltimore Ravens – 37
Seattle Seahawks – 3
Another week, another NFC opponent and another team the Baltimore Ravens absolutely annihilate. Steelers fans who were hoping Seattle would help them out with a win in Baltimore, think again. This game wasn’t even close, and it was ugly enough the Ravens decided to pull Lamar Jackson in the 4th quarter because he wasn’t needed anymore. Felt like a preseason game.
Cleveland Browns – 27
Arizona Cardinals – 0
The Cardinals didn’t have a quarterback with any legitimate experience, and it showed. The Browns defense was suffocating, and they took care of business at home in a big way. Kudos to those who started the Browns defense (::coughcoughMEcoughcough::) in their fantasy lineups.
Cincinnati Bengals – 24
Buffalo Bills – 18
The prime time game saw the Bills go back to Cincinnati, the place where the football world stopped a year ago when Damar Hamlin went into cardiac arrest near midfield. The Bills made it a one score game by the final whistle, but the game never felt that close. The Cincinnati Bengals came out of the gate hot, and they held onto the lead the entire game. Don’t look now, but the Bengals look like they are back.
