A pair of Steelers win monthly league awards for October
The Pittsburgh Steelers are coming off a tremendous month of football in October, one where the team finished 3-1 and is heading into their Week 9 bye with a 6-2 record. That record has them in 1st place in the AFC North, and tied for 2nd in the AFC, but there are some players on the team who earned some league awards for their play in October.
Those players were Beanie Bishop, as the Defensive Rookie of the Month, and Chris Boswell for the Special Teams Player of the Month.

Bishop, an undrafted free agent out of West Virginia, and ha shad three interceptions in two games this month.
Bishop didn’t just have his first career interception, but had two interceptions against New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers in a Week 7 win at Acrisure Stadium.Β In the Week 8 win over the New York Giants on Monday Night Football, it was Bishop who would come through at the end, intercepting Daniel Jones and sealing the win with just 34 seconds left to play and the Steelers holding on to a 26-18 win. Bishop finished the game with five tackles, including three solo stops, and the interception.

Boswell picked up in October where he left off in September, when he was also named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Month.
During the month he was 12-for-12 on field goal attempts and 10-for-10 on extra point attempts, something that has become routine for him as he is having a tremendous season.
This is the third time Bozwell has won AFC Special Teams Player of the Month, previously doing so in December/January in 2015 and September 2024. Boswell was previously named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week three times in his career, including Week 1 this season against Atlanta. He won the honor in Week 6 of the 2015 season and in Week 13 of the 2017 season.
Be sure to stay tuned to SCN for the latest news and notes surrounding the Steelers as they head into their bye week with a 6-2 record.
