A Letter From the Editor: A special Thanksgiving to all the SCN Steelers fans

The Pittsburgh Steelers future is up in the air, for a lot of reasons, and believe it or not there was a time when I felt the same about my own future. Without going into specifics, when I made the move to not just leave BTSC to SCN and FFSN, it was a jump into the unknown. Also a big leap of faith.

Would fans follow? Would we be able to make something which won’t just have Steelers fans flocking to see our content, but to create a network of all teams/sports which can hang with the best of them?

While the network grows, we here at SCN took a wait-and-see approach to the new site. Come to find out, not nearly as many followed us, and our work, here as we thought there would. While disappointing at first, our new site, while still in its infancy and looking to improve, has continued to grow.

Every day we see new names in the comment sections, and more fans finding our work. The more I think about it, the more satisfying it is to build something new and from scratch. Yes, there are many who came over from our old stomping grounds, but this website has been a breathe of fresh air all the way around.

And that’s the crux of this article today. It’s me giving thanks to you, the SCN follower. While there are many who followed, several came, didn’t like what they saw, and left. I realize the site is far from a finished product, and it’s something we are actively working on. Will it be this season? Not likely, but hopefully before the 2024 NFL Draft.

But without those who found us, or stuck around, I can’t say thank you enough on this Thanksgiving day for being a part of this new family we are slowly building. Every time you share an article, tell a friend or listen to a podcast…it matters. Just know it doesn’t go unnoticed.

While trying to cultivate this site, as well as FFSN, there are days I don’t get to check out the comments very often, but I wanted to take a minute to thank everyone who regularly consumes our content.

On this Thanksgiving day, enjoy the family, football and food!! Feel free to use this comment thread as an open thread of sorts, and as always….GO STEELERS!
