7 players projected to miss the Steelers first practice of Week 12 on Monday
The Pittsburgh Steelers are moving along through the 2024 NFL season and are back in action with a quick turnaround for their next AFC North matchup of the season as they travel to Cleveland for Thursday Night Football. Although the Steelers did not the practice field, they are required to give an injury report even if it is just projected. Reporting the projections in preparation for the Browns, there were seven players who were projected to not participate while none were projected as limited. In the first injury report of the week courtesy of the Steelers PR Department, eight names appear on the list.
Pittsburgh Steelers Participation/Injury Report, Week 12

No. 22 RB Najee Harris (NIR – Resting Vet) – DNP
No. 27 CB Cory Trice Jr. (Hamstring) – Full
No. 56 LB Alex Highsmith (Ankle) – DNP
No. 73 OL Isaac Seumalo (NIR – Resting Vet) – DNP
No. 81 TE MyCole Pruitt (Knee/NIR – Resting Vet) – DNP
No. 90 LB T.J. Watt (NIR – Resting Vet) – DNP
No. 97 DT Cameron Heyward (NIR – Resting Vet) – DNP
No. 99 DT Larry Ogunjobi (NIR – Resting Vet) – DNP** Please note that Monday’s report (11/18) is an estimation as the Steelers did not hold practice
Of the seven players who were projected to miss practice on Monday had the Steelers actually taken the practice field, only two were due to injury. Alex Highsmith would not have taken the practice field on Monday with his ankle injury and it is extremely likely he will miss Thursday’s game. During Monday’s press conference, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said he had not checked in on Highsmith’s situation but considered him “more out than in.”
The other player who missed time due to injury but also having the designation of rest is tight end MyCole Pruitt. Missing the last game, Pruitt does have a chance to get back on the field if his knee progresses well enough this week.
Of the players who are projected to have missed the day due to rest, they include running back Najee Harris, guard Isaac Seumalo, linebacker T.J. Watt, tackle Cam Hayward, and defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi.
The one player on the list who was projected to be a full participant was Cory Trice as he is looking to come off the designated to return list onto the 53-man roster. Whether or not the Steelers intend to bring Trice back to the roster for this week’s game will likely not be known until 4 PM on Thursday.
As for the Browns projected injury report, it can be seen below when available courtesy of Steelers.com.
As is often the case when it comes to the injury report, it is the progression throughout the week that will give an indication to a player’s availability. For this reason, make sure you are checking back at Steel Curtain Network for Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s injury report as well as continued coverage as the Steelers prepare for Thursday’s game against the Browns.
