7 players mentioned by Mike Tomlin following Sunday’s training camp practice

The Pittsburgh Steelers took to the practice field again at St. Vincent College for training camp on Sunday before a day off on Monday. Following practice, head coach Mike Tomlin addressed the media about their day on the field. Since he was asked about a few players, I am excited to continue the players mentioned article at Steel Curtain Network for the 2024 season! Remember these are supposed players where a specific question was asked during the Q&A period.

Larry Ogunjobi, Keeanu Benton, Isaiahh Loudermilk, & Logan Lee

Coach Tomlin was asked if anything jumped out to him individually or collectively during the goal line period. In his response, Coach Tomlin mentioned four separate defensive linemen, two of which they had held out of the drill and two of which who then got the opportunity.

“I thought we had some young defenders really stand up. I had some guys out of the drill, like Larry Ogunjobi and [Keeanu] Benton, and so we had guys like [Isaiahh Loudermilk] and others – Logan Lee – stepping up in class and getting an opportunity to pit their skills against more established guys, and so it’s always good when guys get an opportunity to do that, and to have some success. I thought some of those defensive linemen up front really represented themselves well.”

Justin Fields & George Pickens

Coach Tomlin was asked about what has stuck out with the connection between quarterback Justin Fields and wide receiver George Pickens in practice.

“I’d throw the ball to George, too. George is pretty good.”

Russell Wilson

Coach Tomlin was asked on how much he anticipates quarterback Russell Wilson being able to ramp up his participation after the Steelers off day on Monday.

“See you next week.”
