3 Steelers still unable to practice on Thursday
The Pittsburgh Steelers are coming out of their three-game home stand and are looking to stack even more victories. Heading on the road for an AFC North matchup, the Steelers are hoping to get some of their injured players back sooner or later.
In the second injury report this week courtesy of Steelers.com, there are no new names that appear on the list with three players still unable to practice.
Pittsburgh Steelers Participation/Injury Report, Week 11

No. 31 S Keanu Neal (Rib) – DNP
No. 39 S Minkah Fitzpatrick (Hamstring) – DNP

One player who Steelers fans are keeping their eyes on is All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. Missing all of their last game after leaving early in Week 8, Fitzpatrick did not practice on Wednesday. On Thursday, Fitzpatrick was still unable to take the field.
The other player who missed Sunday’s game due to injury for the Steelers was defensive tackle Montravius Adams with an ankle. On Wednesday, Adams was still unable to participate. Thursday saw more of the same from Adam as he was unable to participate.
Some good news the Steelers received early this week was opening the practice window for tight end Pat Freiermuth. Listed on the injury report now that his 21-day window has begun, Freiermuth was the only player who was listed as limited in practice on Wednesday. Freiermuth progressed even more on Thursday as he was a full participant and looks to be ready for Sunday.
One player who was unable to finish the game on Sunday due to injury was safety Keanu Neal who injured his ribs on his interception return. On Wednesday, Neal did not take the practice field. Deemed to likely be a game-time decision on Sunday by defensive coordinator Teryl Austin, Neal did not practice on Thursday.
Another injury that was reported by Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin following the game was Diontae Johnson who injured his thumb. To start the week, Johnson did not practice on Wednesday. Thursday saw Johnson return as a full participant and should be fine for this week.
Missing most of practice last week but still being able to play in the game was Cam Heyward with his groin injury. So to see Heyward not practicing the first day of the week is not overly surprising. As expected, Heyward returned on Thursday but as a limited participant.
There were two players on the Steelers who did not practice on Wednesday not due to injury but due to getting extra rest. These two players were cornerback Patrick Peterson and guard Isaac Seumalo. Both players returned on Thursday and were removed from the list.
