One player who was already ruled out for Week 17 earlier this week was inside linebacker Elandon Roberts with a pectoral injury. For this reason, Roberts did not participate in practice at all this week.
One player many Steelers fans were looking to see if he could return was safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. Coming off a knee injury, Fitzpatrick was not ready to get back on the field and did not participate in practice at all this week and has been ruled out for another week. Looking at yet another safety who missed last Saturday’s game, Trenton Thompson returned to practice on Wednesday as a limited participant with his neck injury. On Thursday, Thompson was upgraded to a full participant. Friday saw Thompson back to being unable to practice and was ruled out for Sunday.
The other player who participated in practice but in a limited fashion on Wednesday was quarterback Kenny Pickett. Thursday and Friday saw more of the same with Pickett as he was once again limited. Mason Rudolph will once again get the start this week while Pickett is questionable for the game.
There were two other members of the Pittsburgh Steelers who did not practice on Wednesday in running back Najee Harris with a knee injury and guard Isaac Seumalo with a shoulder injury. Both players had been missing the early portions of the week as of late and these injuries are not expected to have them miss the game on Sunday. On Thursday, Harris was back as a limited participant while Seumalo practiced fully. Friday saw Harris as a full participant while Seumalo did not practice. Even with a big difference in participation, both players have no injury status for Sunday.
