3 players mentioned by Mike Tomlin following Friday’s practice

The Pittsburgh Steelers are getting ready to head to Las Vegas to face the Raiders on Sunday. Following their final formal practice of the week on Friday, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin answered a few questions from the media. For this reason, it is once again time for a players mentioned article. Remember these are players where a specific question was asked during the Q&A period.

Russell Wilson

Coach Tomlin was asked about Russell Wilson’s participation in practice on Friday.

“I thought he had a good week. He has proven his health, and now it’s just a matter of knocking the rust off.”

Coach Tomlin was asked if Russell Wilson has shown enough to be active on Sunday.

“Yeah. He’s probably going to be active as the number two quarterback. I like what I’ve seen out here, but again, health and rust are two different things. I thought he had a good week displaying his health, his ability to protect himself, and now it’s just the process of getting reacclimated to the ball.”

Jaylen Warren

Coach Tomlin was asked what he saw from Jaylen Warren this week.

“He was a full participant today. Full trajectory on the upswing. Feeling optimistic about his inclusion. He’s listed as questionable.”

George Pickens

Coach Tomlin was asked how George Pickens did this week.

“Guys, we have been very transparent with you regarding the lack of snaps. There’s frustration and all of that, man. Competitors oftentimes get emotional, that’s a component of this game. I’m not going to make more out of it than what it is.”
