2025 NFL Draft Stock Report: Biggest Risers from CFB Week 2
The NFL Draft is still in the distant future, but the true difference-maker in a player’s draft stock is determined by their on-field performance during the regular season. “But how can I track all the highlights throughout college football each week?”, you may ask. If that is you, you came to the right place!
Each week during the college football season, I will bring to you an NFL Draft Stock Report, sharing the most significant draft information gathered from the previous week’s college football action. As the season goes on, we will focus in on players whose stock is continuously soaring and making a case to be an early to mid-round selection.
As always, be sure to share your thoughts on these prospects in the comment section below, but without further adieu, here are the most notable performances affecting the 2025 NFL Draft landscape from this past week’s action.
Quinn Ewers | QB | Texas
Saturday’s Michigan vs. Texas game did not shock this Wolverines fan, but I was somewhat disappointed about the defense’s inability to stop Quinn Ewers, especially in the first half. Ewers picked apart the Michigan secondary, completing 24 of 36 passes for 246 yards and 3 touchdowns. His ball placement, decision making, and deep-ball accuracy all stood out on Saturday, and he suddenly finds himself gaining positive momentum toward being a top-10 pick and one of the first quarterbacks selected.
Nick Emmanwori | S | South Carolina
Emmanwori was on my preseason watchlist of potential breakout candidates, and two weeks into the season, he is living up to the hype. Albeit against Kentucky, the South Carolina safety recorded 7 tackles and an interception that was returned for a touchdown. At 6’3″, 227 pounds, Emmanwori has the size of a mini linebacker but the speed and fluidity of an elusive cornerback. After seeing him all over the field this past week, I expect his stock to continue to rise as a Day 2 prospect.
Tim Keenan III | DT | Alabama
Alabama did not play good football for three and a half quarters of this game against South Florida, but the defense came up with several key stops down the stretch. and Keenan provided a much-needed spark up front. Recording 9 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and 2.5 tackles for loss, Keenan provided key penetration up the middle, wreaking havoc at key moments. Keenan is only a junior, but if his ability to blitz is as good as advertised, he may want to consider leaving for the NFL a year early.
Devonte O’Malley | DL | Northern Illinois
Of the many tight games in Week 2, there was no game more talked about than Northern Illinois’ upset of Notre Dame. In this matchup, several players stick out as difference makers, and one of those is O’Malley. At 6’2″, 293 pounds, projections are all over the place for him as it pertains to his NFL future, but as an undersized 3-technicue, he has enough twitch and explosion to get small and make things happen. O’Malley recorded 4 tackles, 2 sacks, and and 3 tackles for loss in their win over the Irish, and he automatically finds himself as a viable mid-round draft target. Keep an eye on this name as we continue through the season.
