It’s the official lull of the NFL offseason, and that means it provides enough time to go over things which you might not have time to dive into when the news and storylines are rampant. One of the things which is always something I want to do is an in-depth preview on the schedule. When the schedule gets released it involves a very knee jerk reaction from the fan base, but not a lot of introspection happens once the dust settles.

Well, if you’re like me, you’re in luck. This is the detailed breakdown of the Steelers 2024 regular season schedule, by week.

Week 8: vs. New York Giants

Last Meeting: 9/14/20 – Steelers 26, Giants 16

Overall Series Record: Giants lead 44-31-3

Steelers: 10-7

Early Betting Lines: Steelers -4.0 / O/U: 42.5 / Moneyline: Steelers -198

Projected Starting QB Matchup: Daniel Jones vs. Russell Wilson

Analysis: In the last schedule breakdown article, a prime time game vs. the Jets, I had the Steelers dropping their first game of the regular season in front of the home crowd. That doesn’t happen two times in a row, against the other New York team.

While I believe the Jets will be much improved in 2024, I can’t say the same for the Giants. They are sticking with Daniel Jones for another year, they let Saquon Barkley walk in free agency, and Darren Waller decided to call it a career and retire. Not an ideal offseason for the team trying to get back to relevance in the NFC.

The Steelers will be plenty mad about their loss to the Jets on their home turf, and so they go into this game with a renewed sense of vigor, and post the first 30 point total of the season. They don’t eclipse the 30 point mark, but getting there after the last two offensive coordinators feels like an extremely large undertaking.

The defense dominates, creating turnovers along the way, and the offense turns those takeaways into touchdowns. When all is said and done, this will be one of the Steelers most dominant wins of the regular season.

Prediction: Steelers 30, Giants 13
