2024 Steelers Schedule Preview: Week 7 vs. New York Jets
It’s the official lull of the NFL offseason, and that means it provides enough time to go over things which you might not have time to dive into when the news and storylines are rampant. One of the things which is always something I want to do is an in-depth preview on the schedule. When the schedule gets released it involves a very knee jerk reaction from the fan base, but not a lot of introspection happens once the dust settles.
Well, if you’re like me, you’re in luck. This is the detailed breakdown of the Steelers 2024 regular season schedule, by week.
Week 7: vs. New York Jets

Time: 8:20pm EST
TV: NBS
Last Meeting: 10/2/22 – Jets 24, Steelers 20
Overall Series Record: Steelers lead 20-7-0
2023 Records:

Early Betting Lines: Jets -1.0 / O/U: 43 / Moneyline: Steelers -105
Projected Starting QB Matchup: Aaron Rodgers vs. Russell Wilson
Analysis: I know people are down on the New York Jets as a whole after the flop of a 2023 season, but what do you expect when your starting quarterback, and future Hall of Famer, goes down in the first series of the season with a ruptured Achilles tendon. We all know how last year went down, but I think it’s safe to say the Jets will be a much improved team in 2024.
In fact, I think they will be one of the better teams not just in the AFC East this season, but also one of the best teams in the AFC. No, this isn’t just about Rodgers’ health, but also their defense. The Jets defense didn’t get much help last year, and still were able to put up some great performances.
With that being said, I think points will be at a premium in this contest, and it will be up to the Steelers to show they are more than just a power running football team in this game. The aerial attack will have to be up to the task, and we’ll see if Russell Wilson, Pat Freiermuth and George Pickens are up to the task.
I think this is a game between two teams who will be at, or near, the top of their respective divisions and will square off in prime time. Mike Tomlin at home in prime time is tough to beat, but I think the Jets get the best of the Steelers in this one, giving them their first loss of the regular season.
You didn’t think I’d have them go undefeated, did you? Sadly, this is the first predicted loss I have of the season.
Prediction: Jets 23, Steelers 20
2024 Regular Season Breakdowns:
Week 3: vs. Los Angeles Chargers
